Rajaji National
Park is an Indian national park that includes the Shivaliks,
near the foothills of the Himalayas. It is broaden over 820
sq.
km, and three districts of Uttarakhand Haridwar,
Dehradun and
Pauri Garhwal. In 1983, three wildlife sanctuaries in the area
that is, Chilla, Motichur and Rajaji sanctuaries were merged
into one.
Rajaji National Park has been named after
C. Rajagopalachari (Rajaji),
a famous leader of the Freedom resist, the second and last
Governor General of free India and one of the first recipients
of India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna (in
1954). Rajaji
National Park is different for its perfect lovely beauty and
rich biodiversity. A heaven for nature lovers and wildlife
enthusiasts. The wildlife of the park is sacred with elephants,
tigers, leopards, deer and gorals as its best known life forms.
Three sanctuaries in the Dehradun Shivaliks, Rajaji,
Motichur
and Chilla were combined into a large protected area and named.

Flora:
The forest eco systems of the Rajaji National Park are fairly
assorted and miscellaneous. A common review of the forests
reveals some important types of plant union like Shorea,
Mallotus and Adina community, Shorea, Terminalia and
Bridelia
community, Dalbergia, Acacia society, Syzygium, Phoebe and
Drypetes community etc. The stifling forest ecosystems of the
park have many exclusive characteristics, which have both
scientific as well as practical importance for growth.
Fauna:
Inhabiting the intense green jungles that form the park are an
impressive collection of creatures - Some species of mammals
including tigers, leopards, elephants, deer, jungle cat, wild
boar and sloth bear and many species of birds are found in
Rajaji Nation Park. The most famous avian species include pea
fowl, woodpeckers, pheasants, kingfishers and barbets,
supplemented by a number of traveling species during the winter
months.

Air:
Jolly Grant, Dehradun is the adjacent airport from the national
park.
Rail:
Nearest railway station is situated at Haridwar/Rishikesh.
Road:
Rajaji National Park is nearby from many directions by road. Bus
services and overnight trains are available for Dehradun and
Haridwar from Delhi and Lucknow. From Delhi 231
kms. From
Lucknow 509 kms.
